Century High School

Santa Ana Unified School District - Santa Ana, California

This is a 154,360 square foot, cast-in-place structure on a very restricted site. Placing the 300-space parking on the roof provided an additional 150,000 square feet for academic-athletic use. A single level contains all labs and administrative units which surround the large central plaza. A curvilinear amphitheater features a sweeping rooftop access ramp. The curvilinear form softens the impact of this urban campus on the fronting major boulevard.
