This cast-in-place building uses a shifted grid for the second-level classrooms which allows maximum natural light for each room and provides protected north light entry for the lower level spaces. Featuring a full length clerestory, the upper level corridor reduces lighting loads during school hours. The design also includes a fully accessible multipurpose room and a full service kitchen. A cylindrical tube, housing an elevator topped by a steel truss tower, highlights the vertical circulation.
